This role supports research initiatives by identifying and characterizing airborne materials within a biodefence context.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and conduct aerosol sampling and exposure assessment studies.
• Measure airborne particulate matter, including dust, fumes, mists, nanoparticles, chemical aerosols, and bioaerosols.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain aerosol monitoring and sampling equipment.
• Analyze particle size distributions, concentration, composition, and exposure.
• Interpret results and compare findings with applicable occupational exposure limits and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and client presentations.
• Recommend engineering controls, administrative controls, and respiratory protection strategies.
• Collaborate with engineers, toxicologists, and environmental scientists.
• Maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures for laboratory and field measurements.
• Stay current with advances in aerosol science, occupational hygiene, and exposure assessment methods.
Required Qualification
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Aerosol Science, Environmental Science, Occupational Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience conducting aerosol measurements and exposure assessments.
• Knowledge of aerosol physics and particle transport.
• Strong analytical, statistical, and scientific writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites as required.
Preferred
